Shantell Brown


My name is Shantell Brown and I’m the owner and head Chef of Casimir Bakery. I like to make people happy with the food I make, and desserts are the food that makes people the happiest. This Bakery has been my lifelong dream. I am a classically trained chef who studied baking and pastry arts and food business management at The Culinary Institute of America, and I want to use my skills to inspire joy.
Our Mission
To bake classic treats made with passion and skill that bring joy to people’s everyday lives, celebrate special occasions with creative and inspiring desserts, and foster connections in our community through traditional, homemade, and high-quality pastries meant to invoke a sense of comfort and home.

Meet the Woman Behind the Name
Casimir Gordon


Around the time I decided to open my own bakery, my grandmother got diagnosed with a rare breast cancer. I made a promise to myself that if she beat her cancer, I would name the bakery after her. Ever since we found out she was cancer-free, I put all my energy into making my promise a reality. She is the kindest, most thoughtful, and welcoming person I know, and this business will be a part of her lasting legacy.
